With the devs hard at work on the highly anticipated Battlefield 6, it means Battlefront 3 is further down the pecking order for now. Here, they claim EA will announce Battlefront 3, which is already in development by EA DICE.

According to redditor u/NotDevinsideyourhead, April 20 is one to mark in the diary. We can't emphasise enough that all of the below needs to be taken with a pinch of salt, but still, it's easy to imagine a threequel being in the works under EA's new-found Star Wars steam. Although there's no concrete evidence, a new leak on Reddit (not the most accurate of sources) claims EA is getting ready to officially announce Battlefront 3.

The new era continued with the divisive Battlefront 2 in 2017, however, there has been continuous speculation about what could come next. The franchise boomed, and although there were plans to make a third main series entry, Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm led to LucasArts' closure and left EA DICE to reboot with Star Wars Battlefront in 2015. All the way back in 2004, LucasArts (which was a rebranded Lucasfilm Games) released Star Wars: Battlefront.
